The microphone came in a cardboard box that was noticeably misshapen, though it seemed strong enough to protect the contents. The USB microphone itself is omnidirectional. On the base, there's a button that turns a red LED on or off, but the microphone continues to function regardless of the LED's state. It's unfortunate that the button can't actually disable the microphone, because otherwise it works well and would deserve a 5-star rating.
