Formaldehyde harm
Children develop mild asthma when formaldehyde concentrations reach 0.08-0.09mg/m3 (60-67 PPB) per cubic meter of air.When the indoor air reaches 0.1mg/m3 (75ppb),there is a smell and discomfort;When it reaches 0.5mg/m3 (373ppb),it can stimulate the eyes and cause tears;Up to 0.6mg/m3 (448ppb),can cause throat discomfort or pain.Higher concentrations can cause nausea and vomiting, cough chest tightness, asthma and even pulmonary edema;At 30mg/m3 (22400ppb),it can cause immediate death.
Formaldehyde detection is easier
The SFA30 is the Sensirion's new digital formaldehyde sensor that can be easily integrated into an air purifier, on-demand ventilation system, or indoor air quality monitor.
Based on Sensirion's electrochemical treatment technology, SFA30 provides excellent formaldehyde detection performance with very low cross-sensitivity to other VOCs.Integrated temperature and humidity sensors provide accurate humidity and temperature readings, complete temperature/humidity compensation and calibrated formaldehyde concentration output in PPB.Easy integration is achieved through digital UART and I2C interfaces, standard electrical connectors, and multifunctional installation options.Based on Sensirion's experience in the field of environmental sensing and an electrochemical unit with patented anti-dry technology, the SFA30 has excellent stability and a service life of up to six years.
CMOSens® formaldehyde sensing technology
SFA30 is based on the principle of amperometric electrochemical measurement and has the lowest cross sensitivity and good long-term stability.Formaldehyde is decomposed at the working electrode, and a current is formed between the working electrode and the opposite electrode, which is proportional to the concentration of formaldehyde.With the Sensirion's specialized chemical technology, our sensors are selectively sensitive to formaldehyde gas and are not affected by the cross effects of other volatile organic compounds
